Introduction

Hello,

From ancient times to modern times, stories always held a certain magic that could only be weaved and waxed to reveal the most enthralling and exciting journeys ever taken. Stories carry a certain message and imprint in them that lasts long after the facts of the story are forgotten. The message and lesson intent will outlive all the facts. Therefore, it goes without saying that one of the most effective ways to teach and nurture is to tell a story.

The African continent and the people from here spread throughout the ends of the earth are just but actors on the world stage. Here are those who have risen far beyond the horizon of the average grasp of a lifetime and those are whom we seek to celebrate. To have them as a guide down the corridor of life towards the stage of destiny.

Sura Kids was born of that desire. Sura is a Swahili word meaning face; which connotes identity, how one sees themselves, and in the converse, how they are seen by those who look upon them. We seek to have our children build up from a deep foundation of self-knowledge; a strong and secure identity through our stories. That they may be proud; not the kind that is vain but the kind that holds your head up high walking through life with that ember in your chest and a glint in your eye.

Sura also means a new phrase, time or era. This new sura, therefore, will usher in a new generation of children who can intelligently and from a point of knowledge talk about the heroes that came before them and their lessons in history with the same ingenuity they rattle on about the newest movies and game releases. We seek to add that one extra chip that will complete the jigsaw to form a mind that has its identity in check and is proud of it.

Welcome to Sura kids; drawing from the majestic Nile River in Egypt to the vast savannas of Kenya, from the bustling markets of Morocco to the dense jungles of the Congo, each region has its own stories to tell. These stories not only entertain but also teach valuable lessons about courage, wisdom, and the importance of community and we need to tell these stories, building one little mind at a time.
